team in training. san diego rock and roll.

This past Saturday I started training with Team in Training to run the San Diego Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon on June 6th. The team supports The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help find a stop to leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am excited and nervous all at once. I'm not a runner. Never have been. But I'm looking to challenge myself and what better way to do it than for a great cause. And another plus is getting to travel to a great city like San Diego.

Check out my website and make a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and help support my participation.

Please forward this post along to anybody who would like to help.

I have also added a widget so you can keep track of my progress right from my blog.

Thanks ya'll and wish me luck in my training.

design challenge. social media. calling card.

So you've signed up for all these social networking sites. Now, how do you get friends? Duh, calling cards with all your info on them! Here's my version of it. Of course, it's a total spoof. That's only because I'm finding humor in the social media world. :)

What do you think? Do you see these being passed around at high schools?

I have come to the decision that this will be my last design challenge. I know, boo. But I am taking on a major design challenge and trying to grow my business and take over the world. Haha. Maybe not take over the world...maybe Jacksonville? Ok. Ok. I'll settle for the Universe. You talked me into it.

design challenge. social media. blogger.

It's no secret. I like to blog. It's an outlet for me. It let's me express myself creatively with words and my passion for design. And the bonus--- I get to "meet" great people and socialize.

That brings me to this week's design challenge...and it's all about blogger...

Funny, no? Wouldn't these be great to give out with your blog URL on them?

design challenge. social media. facebook.

Ah Facebook. Everybody has gone crazy over Facebook. Spending countless hours socializing with friends, playing addictive games and generally stalking each other. But it's all in good fun. Just like this Facebook inspired notecard design.

I keep looking for the "like this" link everywhere! All of the social networking sites should have it.

And to remind ya'll. Become a fan of An Occasional Design. Once I reach 100 fans I will give away 5 gifts to those who let me know on the blog.

become a fan.

I've done it. I've joined the ranks of Facebook and made a Fan Page. How 'bout them apples?

So let's make big a deal out if this and get on over there and become a fan. Of course, I have something for you...

The first 100 fans will be entered into a drawing and 5 happy go lucky winners will receive a special prize from me. Can't beat that right? I mean all you have to do is click "Become a Fan" and then come back here to leave a comment on this post saying you did so. Shabang you're entered. Easy as pie. Of course I do want you to come back often and see what I'm up too. Ya never know when I'm going to have a giveaway or some awesome project to share with you.
